The Beechcraft Travel Air aircraft for sale is a twin engine version of the Bonanza. It took the Bonanza fuselage and the T-34 Mentor's tail control to maximize aircraft sales. The Beech Travel Air was renamed the Baron. Beechcraft Baron 55 for sale and Beechcraft Baron 56 for sale The Beechcraft Baron was introduced in 1961 and is a variant of the Beechcraft Bonanza. The Baron 55 is a short body plane that grew through five different subtypes, the 55A, 55B, 55C, 55D, and the 55E, becoming a better aircraft for sale each time. Used Beech Baron 55, 55A, and 55Bs for sale have weights from 4880 to 5100 lbs., and come equipped with Continental 260 h.p. IO470 engines. The Beechcraft Baron 55 C, D, and E models own bigger engines and weigh somewhere around 5300 lbs. They come equipped with a larger Continental IO520 285 h.p. engines. These models also measure about a foot longer that the versions preceding them. All of the Baron series production occurred between 1961 and 1983 with approximately 3155 being built. Most are still claimed to be available on the aircraft sales market. The Beechcraft Baron series also produced a Baron 56 which had a much larger engine, the Lycoming TIO-541 380 h.p. It was turbocharged, and at the time was the fastest Beech aircraft out. These Beech Baron 56 models were produced for only a short period of time.
