The Bombardier Challenger was originally introduced as an aircraft for sale as the Continental, at the annual 1998 National Business Aircraft Association's convention in Las Vegas. In 2002, the Continental was renamed the Challenger 300. It hit the market in 2004 as a transcontinental range eight-seat corporate jet which sits in Bombardier's model line-up between the Learjet 60 and Challenger 604.
This business jet for sale competes with other jets such as the Hawker Horizon and Galaxy. Bombardier claims that the Challenger offers 39% more cabin space and 20% more range than the leading mid-sized business jet. The Challenger was developed for non-stop missions of up to 3100 nautical miles with a load of eight passengers and NBAA IFR reserves.
The Challenger is powered by two Honeywell HTF7000 turbofans to provide a cruising speed of .83 Mach and a range of 3675 miles. The Challenger 300's cockpit features Collins Pro Line 21 four-tube EFIS, EICAS, TCASII, and EGPWS avionics. Seating is for 8 to 16 passengers and includes a gallery with "stand up room" and bathroom.
Among aircraft sales, it stands among the top craft as a competitor. Used Bombardier Challenger for sale reportedly sell well.
