The French firm Dassault's newest member of its Falcon jet aircraft for sale family is a smaller version of its Falcon 900. The Falcon 2000 offers transcontinental range capability. In 1989 Dassault announced it was building an eight to twelve passenger Falcon 2000 for aircraft sales. Its first Falcon 2000 was delivered six years later in 1995. The Falcon 2000 maintains the Falcon 900's wing and forward fuselage; but, has a range of 3000 nautical miles. This new jet aircraft for sale is powered by only two CFE73811B turbofan engines custom-designed specifically by General Electric & AlliedSignal. Its cruising speed ranks at .83 mach. The 2000 requires less fuel consumption as fuselage was reduced by 6 ft. 6 in. The Catina three dimensional computer-aided program was employed to design a drag reducing 'Coke bottle' rear fuselage. Falcon 2000's wing was also modified with a leading edge, and the inboard slats removed. Collins four screen EFIS avionics system with optional Flight Dynamics head-up displays allow hand flown approaches in Cat II and Cat IIIA conditions.
