The MU-2 is a Japanese commercial aircraft produced by Mitsubishi. Designed in the late 1950's, the first model flew in 1963. The original MU-2 was powered by Turbomeca Astazou turboprops while later versions were powered by Garrett TPE331 engines to produce a cruising speed of 270 knots and a range of 1,040 nautical miles. Two varieties of the MU-2 exist: a standard fuselage model, and a stretched fuselage model with the latter debuting in 1969. The MU-2 improved continuously with changes such as more powerful TPE331 engines and four blade propellers to capture aircraft sales. In 1967 MU-2 production was moved to San Angelo, Texas. Production remained there until production ended in 1986. More than 800 MU-2 aircraft for sale were built. Over 500 remain in service in aircraft sales today, as corporate transports and converted freight liners. Details on this still active aircraft for sale can be found through brokers.
