Piper's Comanche is a four place seating, low wing aircraft for sale produced from 1957 to 1972 until a flood ruined Piper's manufacturing plant. The Comanche is a popular airplane for IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) flying because of stable flight characteristics.
Comanche's family line includes the Comanche 180, 250, 260, 260 turbo, 400 and its Twin Comanches. Factory equipped Comanches offer a fuel capacity of 90 gal. and a range of almost 1,125 miles. Wing tip fuel modifications can increase the Comanche's fuel capacity and range.
Max Conrad's historic record-breaking, long distance flight from Morocco to Los Angeles of 7,688 miles occurred in a Comanche. Conrad replaced most of the interior with fuel tanks. When he took off he was 2,000 lbs. over the production weight limit, which demonstrates the Piper Comanche's solid structure.
Although no longer in production, the Comanche remains a popular aircraft for sale for both its attractive design and fast cruise speed. The Comanche 250 and 260 are particularly noteworthy for being economical and high performing compared to aircraft sales on the market.
