Piper's PA-39 Twin Comanche is a twin-engine variation of the earlier PA-24 Comanche. The Comanche is considered to have sports car handling characteristics and is an unforgiving plane for inexperienced pilots. Later PA-39 aircraft for sale have room for 3 adults and 2 children. The twin Lycoming IO-320-B1-A engines produce 160 h.p. each and were the only engine that Piper used on this model. Miller modifications allowed for the installation of higher horsepower Lycoming engines, which were often deemed necessary for aircraft sales planes of this size.
